Spread across a total area of 1399 sq. kilometers, the Crocker Range National Park is considered the largest national park in Sabah.The National Park was recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2014 which made it the second Malaysian site after the Chini Lake in Pahang. Crocker Range Park is about 13km or a 30-minute drive from Keningau town. 

The Crocker Range is the rugged backbone of southwestern Sabah, separating coastal lowlands from the wild tracts of jungle in the east, and offering Sabah?s toughest trekking challenges - which rises near coffee-growing Tenom in the south and runs north to Mt Kinabalu. The range forms a formidable barrier to the interior and dominates the eastern skyline from Kota Kinabalu down to Sipitang. Once across the Crocker Range, you descend into the green valley of the Sungai Pegalan, which runs from the bustling market hub of Keningau in the south to Ranau in the north. The heart of the Pegalan Valley is Tambunan ? Sabah?s rice bowl ? a good place to delve into traditional Murut culture. An even better place to do so is Batu Punggul, near the Kalimantan border. 

Near Tambunan you?ll find Mt Trusmadi, Sabah?s most challenging peak ascent. Among the attractions to be found in the Crocker Range Park are the Rafflesia sites, trekking courses, birding activity and camping ground. This huge park is home to various species of primate, sun bears, porcupines, wild boars and leopards and a vast variety of birds.
