Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC)

image

The Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) a division within the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) is located in building in Kuala Lumpur, which is both an architectural and historical landmark. Built in 1935, the main building served as the residence of a wealthy mining and rubber estate tycoon, Eu Tong Seng. Its architecture is typically colonial reflecting the era during which it was built.

In 1988, the then Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism refurbished the main building, added two wings to the existing building and renamed it the Malaysia Tourist Information Complex (MATIC).

Set within a beautiful colonial building, the Malaysia Tourism Centre is a one-stop centre for tourists with various facilities and services such as Internet access, currency exchange, tourist police, souvenir outlets, tour operators and a chocolate boutique. Cultural performances are held in the auditorium at 3pm every day (except Sundays). The adjacent Saloma Bistro and Saloma Theatre Restaurant offer authentic Malaysian delights.
