Discover Kokol Hill, The Most Beautiful Kota Kinabalu Viewpoint
Kokol Hill is located around 28km North-East from the city and should take you around 40 – 50 minutes to get here. Sitting on one of the highest view points (800m/2,625ft) in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) is Kokol Hill (Bukit Kokol), a favourite local hotspot. Kokol Hill is also located on the Crocker Range and known for its beautiful resorts, picturesque sunset views, cooling mountain breeze and clear blue skies. Those who wants to escape the blistering heat in the city usually make their way here as the temperature ranges from a pleasant 18°C to 24°C.
If it is your first time in the city, you will probably have never heard of Kokol Hill, as it isn’t as popular as the other attractions such as the gorgeous KK Islands (Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park), the majestic Mount Kinabalu or the breath-taking valleys of Kundasang. Well, this is a good thing for you, as you will be able to avoid the huge crowds in the city and enjoy some peace and quiet here. You can come here at any time of the day, as Kokol Hill always welcomes its visitors with open arms. Generally, the best time to visit Kokol Hill is between 9am – 7pm, on a bright, sunny day so you can catch the glorious sunset view.
