Kanching Rainforest Waterfall, also known as Kanching Recreational Forest, is set in a forest reserve of nearly 500 hectares in the Rawang district just north of Kuala Lumpur. If you are looking for a few hours off your regular routine, head for this tropical rain forest and spend one to three hours here. This forest is a popular spots for picnic during the weekends. It has seven waterfalls and pools have been built to contain the clean water that fall down from the hills.

Its close proximity to the city makes this forest park a very popular spot for picnics, camping, swimming and jungle walking especially at weekends. The park is also popular with photographers who like to try out their talents at snapping fast moving water, a skill which sadly I have not yet mastered. 

Kaching Waterfall is within 1 hour drive from Klang Valley area. If you have half day to spare, you can spend 3-4 hours hiking and enjoy the waterfalls there. It can improve your mood and simply refreshing. There were 7 stages of Kanching falls. The hike was pretty easy if you are used to going up the stairs, but steep enough to make you sweat a lot. The hike to 6th level took us 45 minutes, and that included stopping and taking pictures at other levels. Try hike to level 7 as I didn?t think it is all that difficult.

If you prefer a big pool to dip in and a covered huts to settle at, level 4 could be a good spot to picnic. The local authorities have made a great effort to make the place accessable to all. Do not forget to take your swimming gear, as the waters of the falls will definitely allure you. Beware of the monkeys around the place as they can be very tormenting. Take care of your belongings from monkeys all around the place.
